About Lewisville Appaloosas

Lewisville Appaloosas Ann and Warren Lewis live in the picturesque Macedon Ranges just one hour's drive north of Melbourne along the Calder Freeway. We have access to 300 acres of scenic grazing land and native bushland. We breed cattle as well as our Appaloosas and are kept busy with our plumbing and gasfitting business.

Lewisville Appaloosas We have been involved with Appaloosas since 1979, however we became seriously involved when we met Cayuse Appaloosas principles, Vince and Samantha McAuliffe and their two magnificent sires Mighty Storm Song and Cayuse Fewsion at the Vic State Spectacular 1990.

Following that we purchased a colt (Cayuse Confewsion) from Cayuse Fewsion's first foal crop who went on to be more than we could have wished for. We well and truly developed a lethal dose of Appaloosa-itis and have made life long friends along the way.
Lewisville Appaloosas Ann's background has been farming and initially used horses for stock work on her father's property and through our daughter's progress into pony club etc etc. We have three daughters who are very handy come hay carting season especially since they now have partners who are great non paid employees at various times.

Ann and our youngest daughter Carly enjoy showing and breeding Australian Cattle dogs and recently aquired a Dalmation named Major (thanks Samantha) however the real boss is a 10yr old Jack Russell which we all answer too.
Lewisville Appaloosas We found what we were looking for in Appaloosa horses; the best of most breeds rolled into one with temperment - athleticism - soundness and the thing that makes us different COLOUR.

When foaling season comes around we still consider it like Christmas morning waiting to see what differently coloured patterned foals have arrived, when all other breeds can say is; is it a colt or a filly chestnut or bay?
